The Organising Committee of the Daniel O’Connell Summer School has reluctantly taken the decision to defer this year’s Summer School on 28-30 August due to the situation created by the Covid-19 virus.

Mary O’Connor, Chair of the Organising Committee, said that it would not be possible to organise the Summer School this year, given the risk of transmitting the virus. `We very much regret having to take this decision’, Mary said, ‘but we must do everything we can to protect our most vulnerable friends, neighbours and relatives’. Professor Maurice Bric, Academic Director of the School, said that ‘We have decided to defer the School to the weekend of the 27-29 August 2021 and have begun planning an exciting programme of topics and speaker. We look forward to seeing everyone again next year,’ he said.
