Professor Robert Gerwarth, “The Irish Civil War in an International Context”. Professor Gerwarth is a Professor of Modern History at University College Dublin. He has also held a number of visiting professorships, including at Harvard and Yale Universities.

He is currently Senior Research Fellow of the European Research Council and is working on the civil wars of the 1920s. He has published widely - most notably on the First and Second World War - and is the recipient of numerous awards for his work.
