Denis Casey is a historian of medieval and early modern Ireland. He holds a PhD from the University of Cambridge, is a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society, and has held teaching and research positions in universities in Ireland, Britain and Finland.

He is the author of over 50 books, articles and reviews, and is currently working on Irish-Spanish relations in the medieval and early modern periods.
