Brian Crowley is employed by the Office of Public Works as Curator of Collections for Kilmainham Gaol and the Pearse Museum. As well as curating exhibitions in Kilmainham and the Pearse Museum, he has also worked on the display and development of the collection in Derrynane House for many years.
He has published several historical essays and an illustrated biography of Patrick Pearse entitled Patrick Pearse, A Life in Pictures. Recent publications include articles on Kilmainham Gaol and the Famine, the LGBT+ history of Kilmainham and Countess Markievicz’s prison prayer book
