Dr Thomas Earls Fitzgerald

Thomas Earls FitzGerald is a historian of modern Ireland. He was awarded his Irish Research Council funded PhD from Trinity College Dublin in 2018. He has since held postdoctoral fellowships from Trinity College Dublin and the Ireland-Canada University Foundation at Concordia University, Montreal.

Earlier this year he published his first book Combatants and Civilians and Revolutionary Ireland 1918 – 1923 with the Routledge Press and most recently was commissioned by the Irish Labour Party to write a history of the party for their upcoming 2021 conference. He is a frequent contributor to the Dublin Review of Books and was also published in David Fitzpatrick’s Terror in Ireland (2012) and Mary McAuliffe, Bridget McAuliffe and Owen O’Shea’s -  Kerry 1916: histories and legacies of the Easter Rising.
