Dr Nessa O’Connor is an Assistant Keeper in the Irish Antiquities Division of the National Museum of Ireland. She has a BA in Archaeology and Early Irish History and an MA in Archaeology from UCD as well as a Doctorate from the Faculty of Law, Queen’s University, Belfast.
She has worked as a curator and archaeologist at the National Museum of Ireland for many years. Her interests have included early medieval period metallurgy, underwater archaeology, maritime and heritage law and the impact of climate change on archaeology. She is a native of Fossa, Killarney, Co Kerry.
